The journey began when a group of like-minded friends sat together over a cup of coffee, during which the topic of AI/ ML and virtual clothing emerged. The founders soon discovered they shared a similar passion for the technologies and their endless possibilities. The coffee catchup soon turned into a lengthy dinner followed by late-night supper - and Mircotopia was born.
We are data scientists, researchers, entrepreneurs with extensive experience and background in AI, machine learning, quantum technology, applied mathematics, data engineering, computer science, 3D design, and cybersecurity. Our experiences span governmental institutions, corporate, space, cyber, tourism, and E-commerce.
We're living in the greatest time in history for Artificial Intelligence. Where those who innovate and experiment advance.

CTO
Andreas outlines Microtopia's technology vision, executes technology strategies, and ensures relevant resources are geared towards the company's business needs. With over 35 years of IT and Cybersecurity experience in corporate, military (Electronic Warfare), and governmental institutions,
Andreas brings vast technical expertise at different levels and business acumen to the organisation. During his free time, Andreas enjoys travelling, discovering new tech gadgets, and exploring new places with his drone.

Former CFO
Daniela headed the finance team, managed the financial activities, and played a vital role in the strategic initiatives of the company. Prior to Mircotopia, she was the Business Administrator and CFO for Solution® - The Computer People for over 25 years. Daniela obtained her Master Professional of Trade and Commerce in Mannheim and was working in the fashion industry before transiting into IT and cyber security
During her free time, she enjoyed reading, relaxing, shopping, and spending time with her loved ones. Not only was Daniela a well-respected team member, she was also a very close and dear friend to all of us at Mircotopia. A classy, generous and kind lady with a big heart that will have a place in our hearts, forever. Daniela, let's meet again!

Christian Lorey
3D Generalist
Christian oversees the 3D processes within the AI and Machine Learning department of Mircotopia. He helps create new tools and perform tests to ensure smooth data flow to the real-time technology platform. Graduated from the SAE-Institute a couple of years ago,
Christian continues to acquire knowledge and experience within the 3D space. Christian's other experience includes VFX in film postproduction in Germany. In his free time, he enjoys gaming, watching films, and bouldering.

Jens is the "intersection" of all divisions of the organization, striving to fuel innovation and business development through cutting-edge AI technologies. He holds university degrees in Business, Economics, Tourism, and speaks 4 languages fluently. Jens is an experienced entrepreneur.
Over the last 26 years, he has founded several companies within the tech and tourism spheres. Jens loves working (no kidding) but when he does take time off work, he would travel to new places with his wife. Snowboarding is his passion, and he enjoys swimming, jogging, and playing with his dog - Madame Desla.

Karoline Grell
Communications / Operations
Karoline supports the operations branch with her expertise in establishing organisational structures in companies and her knowledge about start-ups. She is also operating in the communications branch, dealing with social media. Karoline originally wanted to be a researcher and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and is currently finishing her Master’s Degree in ‘Sustainability, Society and the Environment’. However, her approach to systemic thinking and the competencies
understanding she gained, working in and founding several start-ups over the past years opened a completely new world to her. With her holistic view, she is able to bring new perspectives and ideas to the team. She deeply cares about the environment and sustainability. That is also why she spends most of her free time outside, hiking with her friends and family. Furthermore, she enjoys being creative and explore her surroundings.

CFO
Nicholle integrates finance management with the technology and the strategic team. She also facilitates the communications structure of Mircotopia. She is CA ANZ qualified Chartered Accountant and holds a Post Grad Diploma in E-Commerce. Prior to Mircotopia, she co-founded and managed an activity booking platform.
Before jumping ship into the start-up world, she was amassing commercial accounting and audit experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom in the field of project investments, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and public sectors. During her free time, she enjoys reading, yoga, singing, and travel.

Nefta H. Madrigal
Visualization Vizard
Neftali focuses on the 3D design models, graphics, and all-things visuals for Mircotopia. He is currently responsible for the textures, colors and movements of the clothings we use. After his studies, he gotten involved in 3D, cinema, special effects and soundtracks, covering many fields within the industry.
Recognized for his multifaceted art in visual and musical creative environments, Neftali is a self-taught generalist and passionate about his work, which he sees as his hobbies. When he is not working, he can be seen playing keyboard and singing with his music band.

Ethics Advisor
Patrick is responsible for ensuring that Mircotopia projects adhere to the ethical standards right from the start. He wrote his diploma thesis in pastoral theology, accompanied by a major in moral theology. For many years, as a priest, people and their lives with all their facets and characteristics have been the focus of his daily work. Patrick's calling is to help improve the life of each and every one of us with his teaching (and cooking!).
“I came so that they might have life and have it in abundance” (Jn 10.10b). This word of Jesus for him is both: guiding principle and incentive. ". The human is the center of attention". This guiding principle, which can also be found in the “Ethical Guidelines for Trustworthy AI” of the EU's high-level expert group for AI (p.1ff), forms Mircotopia's basis for development and application.

Patrick O’Keeffe
Business Development
Patrick brings with him 15+ years of experience as a consultant, managing director and board member of international companies and organizations, combining best practices from management to technical solutions. An aerospace engineer specialized in unmanned systems and satellite operations and a former military aviator, Patrick studied international law and economics,
and publishes on international security and space capabilities. In his function as the Chief Executive Officer of AMC Solutions and Quantum Numerics as well as Fellow at the Institute for Security Policy at Kiel University (ISPK), Patrick O’Keeffe is supporting various entities in the transformation of aerospace, maritime, and cyber strategies and policies.

Happy Dog
Madame Desla lifts the team's spirit and puts a smile on everyone that meets her. On paper, she is 6 years old (hence Madame), but isn't age just a number? Prior to joining Mircotopia's family, she was in a dog refuge for 2 years, we are so blessed to have found her.
She is super friendly with humans and still working on her fear for TV (yes, TV!). Madame Desla loves eating, sleeping, sun-bathing, walking, sniffing plants, and training - when treats are involved.
